Tub and surround out
The tub, the surround and any wet drywall behind it come out. We check the framing and subfloor and repair any water damage before building.
Many Conroe homes still have the original tub or the large garden tub that nobody uses. We take it out and build a tiled walk-in shower in its place: built pan, waterproofed walls, a low curb or curbless entry, niche and glass, usually in five to eight working days.
Only the tub area changes; the rest of the bathroom stays. That keeps the job short, and it is why the waterproofing has to be right the first time.

The tub drain is changed for a shower drain and the valve is set at shower height. Licensed plumbing work is coordinated under the same contract.

A rain shower head with a handheld sprayer on a slide bar, like our Conroe shower: easier for cleaning and for sitting on a bench.
Large porcelain on the walls for fewer grout lines, and a small mosaic on the floor for grip.
