Removal of the old floor
Carpet, old tile, laminate or glued-down vinyl comes out, along with the tack strips and adhesive. Debris leaves the house the same day.
Luxury vinyl plank, porcelain and ceramic tile, hardwood and laminate, installed over properly prepared floors. Houston homes sit on concrete slabs that are rarely flat and never dry, so the prep under the floor matters as much as the floor you see.
Whether it is one room or the whole first floor, the scope follows the same steps. You choose the material; we write the rest down before anyone starts.

Old thinset is ground off, cracks are filled, high spots are ground and low spots are leveled so planks do not flex and tile does not lip.
Houston slabs carry moisture. We check the slab before installing wood, laminate or vinyl and use the underlayment or vapor barrier the material calls for.
Floating or glue-down luxury vinyl plank, porcelain or ceramic tile set on leveled thinset, nailed or glued hardwood, and laminate with the right underlayment and expansion gaps.
Thresholds at doorways, reducers between rooms, and new or reinstalled baseboards and shoe molding so the edges look finished.
The floor is cleaned, furniture goes back where it belongs, and we walk every room with you before the final payment.

Humidity, slab foundations and pets or kids decide more than style does. These are the choices we walk through at the estimate.
Waterproof, warm underfoot and the most requested floor for the whole first level. Rigid-core planks hide small slab imperfections better than thin ones.
The best choice for kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms and entries. Large-format and wood-look planks need a very flat floor, which is where the leveling work pays off.
Engineered hardwood glued to the slab handles Houston humidity better than solid wood. Solid hardwood is an option over a wood subfloor in older homes.
Budget-friendly and scratch-resistant. Newer water-resistant lines work in living areas; we do not recommend it in bathrooms or anywhere water sits.
Most single rooms take one to two days; a full first floor with tile or leveling work takes longer. The schedule is written into the contract.
We measure the rooms, check the slab or subfloor, look at the existing floor and talk through the material. No charge, no obligation.
You receive a fixed price listing the material, square footage, prep, transitions and trim, with the payment schedule and the timeline.
The old floor comes out, the slab is ground and leveled, and moisture is checked where the material requires it.
Planks, tile or boards go down room by room with the layout agreed in advance so the pattern runs straight through doorways.
Transitions, baseboards and shoe molding are installed, the house is cleaned, and we correct anything you point out before the final payment.
A floor fails from underneath: a slab that was not leveled, moisture that was not checked, planks with no room to expand. This is how we work so it does not.
